On Friday the 14th July 2006, the 10th Redhill Guides, 10th Redhill Brownies
and the 1st Redhill Rainbows held a celebration evening in honour of two of the
Guides, now Young Leaders, who had achieved the Baden Powell Challenge Award.
All
the parents of the Guides, Brownies and Rainbows were invited to attend.
The evening started with entertainment put on by the three units.
  The
Guides held a sing along with the audience, followed by a solo violin recital
and a duet on the keyboard.
The
Brownies sang "Let's go Fly a Kite" followed by a song from two Brownies and a
Guide.

The
Rainbows put on a puppet show using puppets they had made themselves. They
sang "9 Little Rainbows Sitting on a Wall" and "if You're Happy and You Know
It". This was followed by a rendition of "Cuddly Koalas" and "Look,
Learn, Laugh, Love"

  At
the interval there was a small raffle, all the prizes having been donated by
members of the Guides, Brownies and Rainbows. There was also the
opportunity for mums and dads to have a hot drink with cake or biscuits, which
were also donated.
After
the interval the Rainbows held a Promise Ceremony for eight of the Rainbows.

   The
Brownies then held a short badge ceremony, when badges were presented to a
number of Brownies.
Finally
a number of the Guides were presented with various badges they had earned over
the last term.

We
now came to the most important part of the evening, the presentation of the
"Baden Powell Challenge Award to Ellie and Roisin. Full details of the
work they had to carry out to gain this award can be found
here.

The evening ended with each of the units singing their
"Goodnight" songs.
